In 2008, The Department of Immigration & Citizenship Australian established a Critical Skills List. This list shows occupations in high demand in Australia. The Critical Skills List applies only to people who are seeking to migrate under the Skilled Migration Program and who, unlike with the MODL, are not sponsored by an employer or nominated by a state or territory government.
